Perhaps you thought you were sending a message. It sends a message alright. Only, the message is that those suing in the aftermath of Katrina are silly and frivolous.
It sends the message that those you seek to bring to account and cast a negative light upon are actually the SANE ones, full of compassion. “It’s important to the person who filed it, so we’re taking every single claim seriously,” said Corps spokeswoman Amanda Jones.

Maybe you figured a stack of pennies that reaches to Saturn would be a commensurate punitive action in light of the shameful disgrace that was the government’s response to the hurricane.
Mabe you thought that by doing this, it would force the Army Corp of Engineers to be held accountable for the flood that killed so many and ruined so many lives.
What you have done, however, is provide convenient cover and a nice story for those most responsible.
